(CNN) — The Chicago teachers’ strike has ended after the nation’s third-largest teachers union voted to return to work on Wednesday, according to delegates who attended a union meeting Tuesday.
Chicago public schoolchildren spent a seventh day out of classes Tuesday as teachers union leaders debated whether to continue their strike.
About 800 delegates from the teachers union gathered at midafternoon to vote on whether to end the walkout.
