Having trouble remembering? Just close your eyes.

Posted

Do you have a hard time remembering things? Forgetfulness is an issue for many of us. Some people try writing down things to remember them. But new research suggests sitting down and closing your eyes may help more.

A new study by the Journal of Psychological Science looked at two different groups of people and found that those who took a break and closed their eyes after taking in information remembered more than people who kept doing some sort of activity afterwards. They could even recall new information up to a week after hearing it.

Researchers say this supports previous research that wakeful rest can help stimulate the brain.
