Richmond, VA (WTVR) – Low income Virginians are now getting better access to healthier foods.
The Virginia Department of Agriculture says it is making free Electronic Benefit Transfer machines available to farmer’s markets across the state. That means people will be able to pay for fresh product and eggs at those locations using food stamps.
The Virginia Department of Agriculture says not only will that make more healthier foods available to more people, but it will also help bring in more money for local farmers.
