(CNN) – A young child in Florida says he was forced to get off a school bus because he accidentally got on the wrong one. Reporter, Colby Robertson spoke to the nine-year-old about how he handled the scary situation.
Friday afternoon, 9 year old Ryan Scott got on the wrong bus at pinewoods elementary. As soon as he realized it, he told the bus driver. Ryan relays the drivers message “She said I wasn’t special, no one is special so get off the bus.”
The 4th grader was supposed to get dropped off the bus at Bonita Springs Rec Center but instead was dropped off more than a mile away on Old 41.
Knowing that his Mom worked at the Post Office in Naples, Ryan knew that a Post Office would be a safe place to go.
Ryan walked to the Post Office on Old 41 and asked a worker if he could use their phone, then called his mom at work.
Ryan’s mother says she has filed a complaint with Lee County School’s Transportation Department. She was told they would look at the cameras on the bus and get back to her but she has yet to hear from them.
