The Grateful Dead has been banned from playing Richmond since the 1980’s, but Garcia played a concert with the Jerry Garcia Band at the Richmond Coliseum in 1993.
There is some footage from that night in this story. I also like the WVGO interview, the Plan 9 interview and “small” group of Deadheads that gathered in Monroe Park.
I find it hard to believe a larger group did not gather somewhere to mark Garcia’s passing.
