(CNN) – With a $2.5 million donation, Amazon’s founder and CEO is backing same sex-marriage.
Jeff Bezos and his wife announced the donation for the issue they say they feel strongly about.
Their contribution is believed to be the largest individual donation to protect same-sex marriage.
The money is going to Washington United for Marriage– a coalition working to uphold the state’s same-sex marriage law.
Washington United for Marriage says Bezos’ donation doubles the organization’s funds.
The Amazon founder’s donation follows a same-sex marriage campaign launched earlier this month by Google.
