SAN DIEGO, Calif. (WTVR) - Those celebrating Independence Day in San Diego's Glorietta Bay got either an accidental fireworks display or a very disappointing fireworks show.
The annual Big Bay Boom, the city's popular show went off early and all at once on Wednesday night.
The fireworks display misfired about five minutes ahead of schedule, it appeared that hundreds of fireworks were set off at the same time. The explosions lasted a few seconds then it all went dark.
Garden State Fireworks, the company that put on the show says a technical issue caused the fireworks to pop in 15 seconds.
There was no do-over.
Organizers, who had promised a 20-minute show that included fireworks from four barges, canceled the show.
A team from the company is trying to figure out what happened.
