(WTVR) – A new study says your soda may have an extra ingredient in it that’s not listed on the label — alcohol.
A French research group has found that at least half of the sodas on the market contain at least 10 milligrams of alcohol per liter. Industry experts say that’s only a trace amount that equals out to about 1/1000th of a percent.
Researchers say natural fruits used to make the drinks can ferment and produce alcohol.
But some people say even trace amounts of alcohol can upset Muslims and other groups whose religion requires then to abstain from alcohol.
