VIRGINIA POLITICS: Republicans win, listed first on November ballot

Posted

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Republicans will appear ahead of Democrats on the ballot this November in Virginia. State Board of Elections Vice-Chair Kimberly Bowers drew the Republican Party slip from a crystal bowl during Tuesday’s drawing at the State Board of Elections meeting.

A second drawing will be held later this year. That drawing will determine the order of candidates running for office who are neither Democrat nor Republican.

The second drawing will take place after the August 24, 2012 deadline for candidates of non-recognized political party groups and independents to file for President/Vice President.
