RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--Some controversy and a little fowl play, as Richmond’s City Council discussed chickens tonight.
The Richmond Times Dispatch reported that the council passed a resolution that paves the way for a study of rules regarding backyard hens.
A handful of people in both Richmond and Henrico have recently run a-fowl of the law, by raising chickens on property that is not zoned for live stock.
However, supporters argue that several big cities now allow backyard hens, as part of go-green initiatives.
