JACKSONVILLE, Fla (CNN) – Two Florida teens narrowly escaped drowning after making a dangerous wrong turn into an overflowing canal.
The young driver mistook the canal for a parking lot during a storm that soaked North Florida last week.
Quick thinking enabled the teens to flee through a back window.
Before the car was swallowed whole, the driver dove back in to retrieve a keepsake from his great-grandmother.
When the car disappeared into the flood waters, so did the owner’s job as a pizza delivery man.
A local car dealer who heard about his misfortune gave him a free car Monday. Check out the amazing video
