STACY, N.C. (WNCT) – A North Carolina biologist is recovering from an alligator attack.
The frightening encounter was caught on camera.  Madeleine Wright reported a firefighter was recording when the 10-foot long, 300 pound alligator attacked a man in a ditch near highway 70 in Stacy.

The man, a biologist at Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium, was trying to remove the alligator.

“The alligator was kind of isolated in the ditch. He was very agitated. He didn’t want to move,” said North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Cpt. Richard Venable.

Emergency crews eventually pulled the man out of the ditch, then turned their attention to the reptile.

“We formed a plan to capture it, put it in a container, and take it away,”  Venable. said.
