MIDLOTHIAN, Va. (WTVR)–A menacing robbery at a local pizza store leaves the owner nervous and frightened—and also out of cash.

Around 6:55 pm on May 14, two suspects walked in Zeytin Pizza in the 9700 block of Midlothian.

The owner—who does not wish to be identified—said the two suspects had a handgun.

They demanded money from the register, the safe and as the owner told CBS 6—their wallets.

There were three people at the location; the owner, his wife and the chef.

One of the taller suspects–both black males with hats on–picked up a knife from the kitchen and told the wife to go wait in the office.

The male owner and the chef were forced to strip down naked and enter the freezer.

He opened the freezer door several times, anxiously checking to see if the robbers had left.
He said the robbers reacted by taking the wife and also placing her in the freezer along with the other two. She was clothed he said.

The suspects then blocked the freezer with a piece of equipment. The owner said it took three of them to force open the door.

Although the suspects damaged the landlines, the owner’s cell phone was in the office, and he called 911.

Although this local restaurant remains open, they are closing earlier at night for now.

He said his “wife is scared to work,” but business must go on as usual to pay the bills.

He said the business has been open for a year and a half and they have never had a problem.

He also said that 10 days ago they had the surveillance cameras removed, and so there is no footage of the suspects. He said the service was cancelled, but still the robbers broke a camera.

They also made off with his entire keychain.

He wouldn’t disclose how much was taken but said “they hit the jackpot.”
