(WTVR) – You may soon notice some changes at the gas pumps and it has nothing to do with fuel prices.
The Obama administration and the EPA are allowing gas stations to ditch pumps, used to capture harmful gasoline vapors.
That includes those little rubber circles you see on the end of the nozzles.
The EPA says they’re no longer necessary because most cars are now equipped with technology designed to keep gas vapors from escaping into the air.
The move is expected to save drivers and businesses almost $6 billion over the next 5 years.
