(WTVR) - Some shoppers are no longer buying Tide laundry detergent over concerns it may cause cancer.
A new report by the New York Times found trace amounts of Dioxane in the detergent.
The Environmental Protection Agency has found that Dioxane can cause cancer in lab rats.
Environmental and health advocacy groups have asked the makers of Tide, Procter and Gamble, to change their formula.
However, toxicologists with the company say the amount of the chemical in their laundry detergent is well below the risk level.
