AKRON, Oh. – An Ohio woman created a Facebook profile picture with an X over her daughter’s mouth because she said her daughter was being disrespectful.
WKYC reported Denise Abbott said her daughter, Ava, 13, was talking disrespectfully on Facebook and mouthing off.
The picture also includes the following text:
I do not know how to keep my (mouth shut). I am no longer allowed on Facebook or my phone. Please ask why. My mom says I have to answer everyone that asks.
Ava responded to WKYC via email. Part of her response is below.
It made me realize that I didn’t want my picture on there like that because all of my friends were asking me what happened and what I did.
Denise said she expected her punishment to draw some criticism and will accept such criticism.
In February, Tommy Jordan of Albemarle made global headlines with hisvideo of shooting his daughter’s laptop. The video has been seen more than 31 million times.
Jordan later said all the data had been saved beforehand.
