RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) --

Tonight, students at University of Richmond staged a Trayvon Martin rally on campus, joining with many around the nation. Students wore hoodies in solidarity.

The evening started with an open forum and then carried candles for a vigil at the Westhampton Lake.

“It’s just a heartwarming thing to see,” said Antoine Wall, a student and fraternity member.

“Sometimes people will say that our generation are just very complacent and don’t want to do anything but clearly tonight proves that is just not the case.”

Members of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and Students Black Alliance for Sexual Minority Equality organized the rally.
