Former Marine offers ‘Hunger Games’ training

Posted

Are you ready to train like a Tribute?

The New York Sports Clubs is offering a workout designed after the highly anticipated movie “The Hunger Games."

It was put together by a former Marine and is said to give a little taste of what entering the deadly Hunger Games arena would be like.

First, you have to sprint for your workout supplies.

Then, you go through a circuit of exercises, including weightlifting and bow and arrow drills.

And, in keeping with the spirit of the Games, the class is also a contest.

The so-called tribute who does the most circuits gets a mockingjay pin like the one Katniss Everdeen wears in the book.

Fortunately the punishment for losing isn't death, just a great workout.

The class is free for anyone through April 25th at Sports Clubs in New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington.

The "Hunger Games" opens in theaters at midnight.
