ELYRIA, OHIO (WJW) – Ameryst Blaylock, 26, of Elyria is accused of biting her husband’s lower lip off during an argument at about 2 a.m. Thursday morning.
According to the police report, Blaylock was sitting on the couch with her husband when an argument broke out about their marriage.
Police wrote that Blaylock first punched her husband on the cheek, then jumped on top of him and said, “If you don’t want me, I’m going to make sure no one wants you,” then bit off the right side of his lower lip.
He left and went to Elyria Medical Center, leaving part of his lip behind at the home.
Doctors were unable to reattach his lip, so police disposed of it, the report said.
During questioning, Blaylock told officers, “I bit his lip off,” the report stated.
Blaylock’s husband did not want to press charges but prosecutors did.
Blaylock appeared in an Elyria courtroom Thursday morning but did not enter a plea.
She posted at least $25,000 bond and was released from jail.
The judge has now ordered her to stay at least 500 feet away from her husband.
Blaylock is due back in court on March 12.
