RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--Heavy smoke still lingers in the Oregon Hill neighborhood as fire crews investigate the scene of a garage fire in Oregon Hill, in the 300 block of South Pine Street, at Idlewood Avenue.

At one point, the building was fully consumed by flames, although fire officials said nobody was hurt.

Firefighters responded about 9:15 p.m. to a building that was formerly used by Carter’s Drygoods and Notions.

Richmond firefighters said people in the neighborhood are now complaining of the lingering smoke from the fire.

Streets were closed while firefighters battled the blaze. They are now open.
