RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Tonight, Feb. 27, a candlelight vigil will be held near the Governor's Mansion at Capitol Square. This event comes one week after a demonstration in defense of women's rights brought a reported 1,200 to the Virginia General Assembly.
The gathering is called "Take Back the Right," and according to the media release will feature women's rights organization representatives, General Assembly members, and citizens with personal stories and experiences related to the effects of anti-choice legislation.
The event, which starts at 6 p.m., has been organized by local grassroots activists Speak Loud With Silence, who coordinated the demonstrations last week.
