Police search for clues after teenager is killed in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Police have identified the teenager killed Sunday night in Richmond as Antown D. Freenman, according to an email from Richmond police spokesman James Mercante.

Police said officers found Freeman, 19, around 8:00 p.m. along the 1300 block of St. John Street.

Police responded to the Gilpin Court neighborhood after someone reported hearing gunshots.

Police said Freeman, who lived in Whitcomb Street, died from “an apparent gunshot wound,” but that the Medical Examiner’s Office would determine cause of death.
