RICHMOND, VA (WTVR) - A woman was struck by a school bus while crossing the street near the intersection of 3rd and Leigh Streets in downtown Richmond Tuesday morning.

The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to emergency workers on scene.

Police said the bus was heading to the Amelia Street Special Education School in Richmond. Six students on the bus were moved to another bus and taken to school following the incident.

The bus struck the woman while it was making a turn onto 3rd street, at a slow speed, police said.
