After a cool start to Spring, a change in the jet stream will finally allow for some warm weather to return to the region.
The northwesterly winds that have keep things cool for the end of this week will get pushed out of the area by Sunday. After highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s Saturday, temperatures will surge to around 70° on Sunday.
The jet stream will push way north of our area, which will allow a dome of warmer air to move across the country. Highs will remain between 75° and 80° for much of the week. This will produce the warmest weather since the end of last October. The normal high during this period is in the upper 60s.
This pattern won’t last past the end of the week. A strong cold front will pass through our area on Friday. The cooler part of the jet stream, located in the central USA during the mid-week period, will slide back into our area for next weekend. Highs will return to normal or slightly below normal levels.
