The company merging with the bank found inside many Ukrop's grocery stores plans to be ready for the potential sale of the Ukrop family chain.
According to Securities and Exchange Commission filings, Union Bankshares is making sure the 25 First Market branches located in Ukrop's stores can still operate if another company buys the Richmond-based grocery chain.
First Market and Union announced plans to merge earlier this year.
CBS 6 has confirmed with high-level sources that Ukrop's is looking for a buyer. But it is still unknown who will buy the chain or when it might be sold.
