The Richmond mother of a two year old boy remains behind bars, charged with his murder. Monday a Grand Jury indicted Ashley Williams on second degree murder and child abuse charges. She was arrested by Richmond police that day.
The indictments allege that between April 24th and May 30th of this year Williams abused her two year old son D'Sean and that led to his death. Police were called to the home in the 1900 block of Newman Road on May 30th when the child died.
Attorney Pauline Ewald tells CBS 6 that there's more to this story. She says she's confident that when the medical examiner's report is released on the two year old boy, everyone will see that Ashley Williams had nothing to do with the death of her son. She says everyone should reserve their judgement until the legal process plays out.
Ewald says the child has had a history of weight problems since he was an infant. The boy was living with another relative and in recent months was returned to Williams. The attorney says Williams treated D'Sean and her three other children well. She says the boy went to several doctor's visits. One, as recently as a few days before his death. Ewald says "Ashley never kept him hidden. She took him to the doctor many times." She adds, doctors never threw up any red flags.
Shantae Bradley, Williams' sister says "Ashley is an awesome mother. I know she would never do anything to harm any of her children. This is just devastating, but we love Ashley and she has strong support here." She says D'Sean was a great kids who loved to have fun and who loved cartoons.
Ashley Williams is set to appear in court Thursday morning for a bond hearing.

Why aren't scooters regulated like motorcycles? How many times do drivers and motorcyclists have to dodge scooters riding in the middle and left lanes on Broad St. or Parham Rd.? The worse part of this is that I know first hand of two people riding scooters becuase of DUI convictions.

All people deserve good life time and mortgage loans or small business loan would make it better. Just because freedom bases on money state.

Why does the Governor have to waste money on a "ribbon cutting" when reopening the rest areas? We elected him thinking he would be better...what a joke!
