A bogus massage scheme that police say was hatched on Craigslist left a Richmond man staring down the barrel of a gun.
Richmond police say a man solicited a massage from a woman using the popular website and made an appointment for 1 a.m. Wednesday. Police say that woman was 22-year-old Jessica Rice of Chesterfield.
According to police, Rice and two other men showed up to the location on Stuart Avenue where they robbed the victim. The victim then called 911 and gave police a description of the suspect's vehicle and the license tag.
Within 24 hours and with the help of Chesterfield police, Richmond detectives tracked down and arrested Rice along with Saesar D. Lanier and John Olsen. Police say Rice was not running a legitimate business when she offered her services, saying the victim and the three suspects did not know each other.
The three suspects go to court September 24th facing robbery and firearms charges.
