Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Deputies say a quick thinking witness and help from the state police helped catch two would be bank robbers early this morning.
The pair was taken into custody less than an hour after the Bank of Southside Virginia in Carson was robbed.
Investigators say a note was handed to a teller who then handed over cash to the suspect.
He fled out the bank on foot and investigators say to a waiting car. Moments later, heading west on Carson Road, it was spotted by a Virginia State Police Trooper who pulled it over.
While the two suspects were being taken into custody, deputies were searching the roadside for the money.
The car has been impounded and charges are expected later this afternoon.
No one was hurt during the robbery and a witness who spotted the getaway car was able to get a license plate as the pair drove off.
