The VCU Rams defeated #17 Oklahoma Sooners 82-69 Saturday night at the Siegel Center.
It was the first time a nationally ranked team faced VCU on its 10-year-old home court.
The game also marked the return of former VCU Head Coach Jeff Capel to Richmond.
Capel coached the Rams from 2002 to 2006. He left VCU to become Oklahoma's head coach.
Jay Gavin led the Rams in scoring with 20 points.
Larry Sanders added 17 points.
The Rams led 44-33 at halftime.
