Taylor Cousins might have thought she was dreaming.

"I kind of second guessed myself if it actually happened," said the University of Richmond senior about the incident.

But when Cousins and her roommate Alex Child found their backdoor wide open the next day, they knew it had really happened. The incident started when the girls were sound asleep at 5 am Saturday morning.

"I could sort of feel something touching my leg and then i woke up and realized there actually was something touching my leg," said Cousins.

She says when she pulled away she saw the silohette of a male figure leaving her room and then foosteps. In the morning she'd learn that the intruder might have also made a stop in her roommate's bedroom next door. Child also felt a slight touch on her leg.

"I sort rolled over but then i felt it again, i heard all this noise and then him go down the stairs," said Child.

The University heard an almost identical story in 2008. The man was caught, charged and convicted. It's not being taken lightly this time around either.

"We're very concerned that someone would enter a student apartment and do something like this," said UR Spokesman Brian Eckert.

The girls also reported that sixteen dollars was stolen from their residence. As a result campus police are investigating the incident as a burglary and simple assalt. There was no forced entry. The backdoor was left unlocked.

"When you're in a safe place it's easy to become complacent about your personal safety," said Eckert.

The victims and their neighbors plan to start locking up more regularly after this bizarre crime has made a come back on campus.

"It's really weird i don't entirely know the motive to do something like that," said student neighbor Ashley Fortner.
