Social media company Tumblr is opening a new office in South Richmond.

Tumblr bills itself as the world’s easiest way to blog.

According to the company's website, Tumblr was founded in 2007 and lets people effortlessly share photos, quotes, links, music, and videos from a web browser, phone, desktop or email.

The New York-based company's new South Richmond offices will be inside the Corrugated Box Building on West 7th Street. Tumblr's community support team and mobile application developers are already based in Richmond.

Tumblr founder David Karp says he chose Richmond as the place to open a second office because of the talent pool the area has to offer.
