NOTTOWAY COUNTY—
Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly Sunday night crash.Police say 60-year-old Raymond A. Thacker, of Blacktone, was driving a 1995 Ford Ranger east on Route 606 in Nottoway County when it ran off the left side of the road hit the bridge and the guardrail. Police say the Ford Ranger landed in the creek below.
Police say Thacker died on the scene.
Investigators say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Police say the accident happened on Route 606 (Lee Lake Road) near Route 607 (Bible Way Road).
The cause of the crash and of Thacker's death both remain under investigation.
