RICHMOND - It's been almost exactly six months since Bob McDonnell took office as Virginia governor- how does he rate his performance so far?

The governor sat down with CBS 6 reporter Sam Brock Wednesday to talk about navigating the budget crisis, addressing Virginia's deteriorating roads, the blueprint for creating more jobs in the Commonwealth, what role our state will play in contesting new federal health care legislation, how to restore more funding for higher education and a host of other issues.

McDonnell also discusses the need to privatize the ABC liquor business- and how Virginia will make back the money it stands to lose in sales revenues.

"Government shouldn't be involved in the sale of alcohol," said McDonnell, and "secondly, if we privatize the sale of alcohol and have a privatized system, we're going to generate a windfall for transportation of $300, $400 or $500 million or more that will go solely into transportation maintenance."
