JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Virginia State Police said Thursday that a 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stalking and threatening judges and a magistrate in New Kent County.
Law enforcement arrested Vincent D. Rera, of the 8800 block of Old River Road in New Kent, without incident in the 6400 block of Richmond Road in Williamsburg Thursday morning.
The arrest was a result of complaints from the Department of Judicial Services of the Supreme Court of Virginia.
According to officials, Rera stalked and threatened to kill or harm judges and a magistrate in New Kent County between December 2011 and January 2012.
Rera was arrested on two felony counts of making threats of death or bodily injury to a person and one misdemeanor count of stalking.
Rera was held without bond in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail in James City County. Arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2012 in the New Kent County General District Court.
Officials said their investigation is on-going. with the assistance of the New Kent County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
