HENRICO -
Time is running out for the biological parents to come forward and claim a newborn found abandoned in Henrico County over the summer.
The Department of Social Services is taking steps to terminate their parental rights and find adoptive parents for the infant.
The child was discovered in the yard of an Eastern Henrico neighborhood.
The African-American baby boy was just hours hold when he was found in the 4400 block of Samara Drive back on August 27.
The newborn was naked when it was discovered in a yard by a neighbor.
A notice has been put in local papers for the county to obtain permanent custody of the child. In the notice, it orders the unknown biological mother and father of the child come forward and contact their court-appointed counsel and appear in court January 20.
If they do not come forward, the baby will be put up for adoption.
