RICHMOND -
A woman who was hit by a GRTC bus while she was crossing the street was awarded $8 million on Wednesday.
Ms. Mieku Lo had the walk sign at Marshall and 8th street, and was just a block away from work when she was hit by a bus turning right. The accident happened 2 years ago.
Ms. Lo sustained numerous traumatic injuries to her neck and right shoulder and sustained fractures of right pelvis and left hip. She's gone through several surgeries and her attorney says she still lives with chronic pain.
GRTC admitted liability and a jury awarded her $8 million in damages.
