OREGON -
A former Henrico County police officer is sentenced to six years in prison for robbing a bank.
Charles Harpster was sentenced today in connection with the June robbery, just a month after pleading guilty to second degree robbery.
Harpster, who is a 30-year police force veteran, was almost in tears when he apologized in court today. His defense argued he was going through a tough time in his life when he committed the crime.
Harpster's wife, Tammi Truschke, also faces charges. Police say she was her husband's getaway driver.
