The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, have announced that individual game tickets for their inaugural season will go on sale on Monday, March 15th at 9 AM. Tickets may be purchased in person at The Diamond, by phone or on-line at SquirrelsBaseball.com. Coinciding with individual tickets going on sale, the Squirrels' Nest Merchandise Store will celebrate its official "Grand Opening" at The Diamond. For the first time, the entire line of Flying Squirrels merchandise and apparel will be available for purchase by the public.The Flying Squirrels will celebrate the return of baseball to Richmond with the 2010 Home Opener at The Diamond on Thursday, April 15th at 7:05 PM against the Reading Phillies ( Philadelphia Phillies). The Opening Night Celebration will include pre-game pageantry, live entertainment, special guest performers and a post-game fireworks extravaganza.
"There has been such a buzz surrounding our opening night celebration and baseball returning to Richmond," said Flying Squirrels' Vice President & COO Todd "Parney" Parnell. "Opening night is going to be an extremely special evening, and we encourage fans to make sure they are a part of it by coming out on Monday. It's going to be a historic day."
Fans can purchase tickets for all 71 of the Flying Squirrels' 2010 home dates in person at The Diamond, by phone by calling (804) 359-FUNN (3866) and selecting option #1 or by logging on to the on-line home of the Flying Squirrels, SquirrelsBaseball.com and following the tickets link. Flying Squirrels' mascot, Nutzy, will be welcoming fans at The Diamond on Monday morning with a special baseball breakfast. The Flying Squirrels will also be giving tours of ballpark renovations and new amenities for the 2010 season.

The Squirrels' Nest Merchandise Store will also celebrate its official "Grand Opening" on Monday, March 15th. The store will be open on Monday from 9 AM - 6 PM. Monday will mark the first time that fans will have the chance to shop the entire line of Flying Squirrels' memorabilia for the 2010 season. In addition to previously released items, the store now features: bracelets, shot glasses, mugs, beer steins, women's tote bags, women's beach bags, plush toys, infant bibs, rolled t-shirts, key chains, blankets, decals, porch flags, backpacks, pencils, pennants and many more all-new items.
The store is also now fully stocked with everything the Flying Squirrels will take with them to the field in 2010 including: replica game jerseys, official game hats, batting practice hats and all-new t-shirt and sweatshirt designs. Season-tickets for the Flying Squirrels' inaugural season in Richmond are currently available and can be purchased by visiting The Diamond or calling (804) 359-FUNN (3866). Fans now have the opportunity to select their seats immediately upon purchase of season-tickets.
