No Charges in Dog Fondling Case
Charges are dropped against the five correctional officers accused of animal cruelty for fondling a K-9 dog and videotaping it.

Powhatan Commonwealth's Attorney Robert Beasley, Jr. says he decided not to pursue the charges because he did not believe they would stand up in court.

The officers were training to be K-9 handlers when the incident happened.

Beasley said he consulted with several veterinarians about the case. Some believed the act constitued animal cruelty, others did not.
