We're learning new details about what was found inside the home of the suspect in the Appomattox Mass Shooting.The Appomattox Sheriff's Department says they've recovered night-vision equipment and ballistic body armor. They also discovered large amounts of ammunition and a large number on weapons, including long guns and pistols. Investigators believe all of them belonged to 39-year-old Christopher Speight.
In the area outside the home, investigators discovered provisions including food, water, and sleeping bags. They also found a number of improvised explosive devices outside and inside the home. The Virginia State Police Bomb Disposal Unit has rendered all the devices safe.
All of the bodies of the victims have been removed from the crime scene and transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office to determine the exact cause of death. Police have identified those victims as 16-year-old Ronald "Bo" Scruggs, 15-year-old Emily Quarles, 43-year-old Karen Quarles, 43-year-old Jonathan Quarles, 38-year-old Dwayne Sipe, 38-year-old Lauralee Sipe, 4-year-old Joshua Sipe, and 15-year-old Morgan Dobyns. Police say Speight knew all of his victims and that he shared his residence with four of them.
Speight is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg without bond. He has been charged with one count of first degree murder. Additional charges are pending.

Appomattox County schools are reopening on a two hour delay Thursday morning. School staff will report to work on time for a staff meeting to discuss the best way to handle this week's tragic events. Grief counselors will be stationed at county schools to assist students through this difficult time.
Three of the victims in Tuesday's mass shooting were students at Appomattox County schools.

Law enforcement officials have charged Christopher B. Speight, 39, of Appomattox, Va., with one count of First Degree Murder involving the deaths of eight individuals.
Speight was taken into custody at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20 after surrendering to SWAT Team members. Further charges are pending against Speight.
The Mass Casualty Team with the Office of the State Medical Examiner and special agents with the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation began processing the crime scene in the 3000 block of Snapps Mill Road/Route703 early this morning. Identifications of the victims have been confirmed and next of kin have been notified.
The following eight victims have been identified as:

- Emily A. Quarles, 15, of Appomattox, Va.
- Karen Quarles, 43, of Appomattox, Va.
- Jonathan L. Quarles, 43, of Appomattox, Va.
