ALBEMARLE COUNTY -
No charges will be filed against the police officers who killed a man during a shootout following a police chase through several counties New Year's Day.
Albemarle County's chief prosecutor says she will not seek charges against the officers who shot and killed 18-year-old Colby Eppard of Stanardsville.
Police say Eppard stole a Greene County Sheriff's Office cruiser and led officers on a high spped chase through Greene and Albemarle Counties and Charlottesville.
Police used spike strips to disable the car and they say Eppard opened fire on state troopers and officers who surrounded the vehicle.
