The 17th Annual Midlothian Day Parade is Saturday, October 17, stepping off at 9am from Capitol Ale and heading East on Midlothian. This year's Theme is "Make it your Community". The parade route is from the 13100 to the 14000 block of Midlothian Turnpike. All travel lanes of Midlothian Turnpike from Charter Colony Parkway to Old Buckingham Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. www.midlothianparade.org
The 28th Annual Midlothian Village Day Festival is this Saturday, October 17, from 10am to 3pm. Proceeds from the festival support the Cinderella Dreams Project (Cinderella Dreams Project provides prom dresses for area high school girls, lifting the financial burden of parents and teens on a tight budget) and other community organizations like the Richmond Friends of Homeless, Warren's Hope and the YWCA. The festival is a community event filled with crafts, community booths, games, and a silent auction. www.midlothianfestival.net
Only a few days left to see "The Lost Heroes Art Quilt", an exhibit honors America's fallen heroes in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's showing at the U.S. Army Women's Museum in Fort Lee. The "Quilt" will be on display through October 17, the next stop is The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia. And the Innsbrook Beer Wine and Food Fest is Sunday, October 18, from 2-7pm at the Innsbrook Pavilion. You'll be able to sample hundreds of beers and wines from around the world, and food from some of Richmond's top chefs and restaurateurs.
