NEWPORT NEWS -
Friends and family members of Newport News native Michael Vick are being sued for $2 million.
A Florida attorney says Vick gave them the money right before he filed for bankruptcy.
This law suit filed in Newport News U.S. Bankruptcy Court seeks repayment of at least $2 million from several of Michael Vick's family members and closest friends.
The quarterback's bankruptcy trustee is filing the suit saying that before Vick filed for bankruptcy, he deposited some of his money into other people's bank accounts.
Most notably, a check for nearly $1 million was put into the Suntrust account of his friend and manager, C.J. Reamon.
The trustee says Vick also gave gifts to his mother, brother, sister and his children's mothers including jewelry, boats and a car.
The claim here is that the transfers were fraudulent because they happened within a year of Vick's bankruptcy filing to keep those assets away from his creditors and his trustee.
Those listed in the law suit were served these papers today. Meanwhile, Michael Vick is in Philadelphia where federal probation officials say he has to stay.
The travel limits were put on Vick last weekend following the June 25 shooting outside his birthday party in Virginia Beach.
NewsChannel 3 left several messages for Vick's bankruptcy attorney but have yet to hear back from him.
