Democrat Fred Schneider says he's a political watchdog. Monday night's debate showed no new signs for Schneider. He's still supporting Deeds because he says McDonnell is too conservative.

"I don't believe that he has let go of that agenda...the right wing agenda," said Schneider.

Political experts say despite the jabs thrown at last night's debate...both candidates played it safe. There were no game changing moves. This could mean they didn't reach as many undecided Virginia voters.

"I'm not sure that there are a lot of voters who made up their mind on the basis of this debate last night," said Bob Holsworth.

McDonnell has stayed ahead in the polls...and according to some research may have an easier time getting voters to the polls in November.

"The polls are showing that there's an enthusiasm gap...that at the moment there are more republicans interested in this race than democrats," said Holsworth.

It's hard to miss Matt and Audrey Farley's enthusiasm. They too say the debate couldn't change any opinions they have about the race... saying Deeds has been too negative.

"I think the scare tactics that he has tried to to use to scare women in to not voting for Bob McDonnell has been exploitive and insulting," said Audrey Farley.

Both candidates now with a little less than three weeks need tactics that will win.
