HENRICO - Many Virginia families are worries about providing for their families this holiday season. It's one reason the line out of the Henrico Christmas Mother's headquarters was wrapped around the building by sunrise Monday morning.

This is the first day the Henrico Christmas Mother is taking applications. The organizations expects to help over five thousand families this holiday season, providing food and new clothing, toys, and books for children, the elderly, and disabled adults in need.

Shelly Poole with the Henrico Christmas Mother Says "We expect to see a number of folks here that are applying for the first time." Mother Kimberly Deerfield falls in that category. She says, "Having little ones it hard these days."
