RICHMOND - The Ancient Chinese Sport of Dragon Boat Racing takes over Rocketts Landing this weekend. For the first time ever, the sport comes to the Richmond area and is sponsored by Sports Backers who has partnered with Great White North Dragon Boat.

Thirty teams are already registered to compete Saturday, July 31 with the first Race starting at 9am at Rocketts Landing behind the Boathouse Restaurant. The Richmond Chinese Community will provide traditional Chinese performances such as King Fu and A Dragon Dance. Entertainment starts at 10am. The event is free and open to spectators.
