Guard dog attacks delivery driver in Ashland

Guard dog attacks delivery driver in Ashland (July 3, 2009)

ASHLAND - A local delivery man making his rounds is attacked on the grounds of an Ashland business. Jim Huskey says he was delivering a pallet of freight to A & G Enterprises on Washington Highway when a Rottweiler housed at the business attacked him injuring his arm and part of his leg.

Hanover Animal Control confirms they are investigating this attack. Huskey says "workers knew they made the order, and knew I'd be coming to make this delivery. I just can't understand why they would have a rottweiler roaming the area when they are open for business." Huskey says it is only the second time he has made a delivery at this business. He admits when he pulled in he did notice a sign that said "Beware of the Dog". Fearing to get out of his vehicle, he waited for a worker to call the dog off before he got out of the truck. He says when he went to unload, the animal charged at him and the worker.

We tried to contact the owner of A & G Enterprises. The person who answered informed us they were closed until Tuesday and would not comment on the incident. At this point, animal control says no charges have been filed against the owner of the business.
