FREE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING: The annual and free, Giving Heart Community Thanksgiving feast is Thursday, November 26 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center Downtown. From 11a.m. to 3 p.m. enjoy a free meal, entertainment and fellowship. No reservations necessary. Free bus transportation will be offered from several locations around the city.
FREE IMAX MOVIES: The Science Museum of Virginia is offering Big Screen savings, free Imax movies this Friday and Saturday, November 27 and 28. IMAX-DOME tickets will free with museum admission, museum members will enjoy free admission. Tickets will be available on the day of show only and on a first-come basis.
VISIT LEGENDARY SANTA: Visit Legendary Santa, free at the Childrens' Museum of Richmond, starting Friday, November 27 through December 24th. The Snow Queen and other characters will be in Santaland to entertain and hear Christmas Wishes. Admission to Santaland is free. Hours vary. HOLIDAY ILLUMINATION: The Jefferson Hotel's annual holiday illumination ceremony is Monday, November 30 , featuring seasonal music and characters and a performance of "the Nutcracker" by the Concert Ballet of Virginia. The free festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. The Hotel is at 101 W. Franklin Street in Richmond.
FREE MUSEUM ADMISSION: The Virginia Historical Society is marking President Zachary Taylor's birthday this week with a new exhibit, and free admission for anyone named Zachary or Taylor. The exhibit , with items from the President born in Orange County, and free admission offer are good through January 3, 2010. The museum is at 428 North Boulevard in Richmond.
