Tracy Sears- Reporter
Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, Tracy fell in love with broadcast reporting at the age of twelve, and began volunteering at her local news station when she was just seventeen.
While attending college at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, Tracy interned for two years in the White House Press Room, assisting White House correspondents with news releases and credentials, and one year at News Channel 8 in the Washington D.C. Market. After graduating, Tracy took her first job as a production assistant in Hampton, Virginia, before moving to Denison, Texas, to work as a reporter and then anchor for the NBC affiliate, KTEN-TV.
In 2000, Tracy proudly returned home to Virginia to take a reporting and anchoring position with CBS 6. She now reports part time during the weekly broadcasts. Tracy and CBS 6 news photographer, Andy Pederson, won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award and went on to win the prestigious 2004 National Murrow Award for their feature story on "Miracles." In 2006, their story on the fifth anniversary of September 11th won another regional Murrow Award. Tracy enjoys working with children's charities, reading, snow and water skiing, going to the beach, and spending time with her growing family. Tracy and her husband, Jeff, are the proud parents of Jackson and Madeline. They live in Richmond with their two dogs, Bogie and Charlie.
