Sandra Jones- Reporter

For 6 years, I've spent my television career in the Richmond, Virginia market covering city hall corruption, crime and courts. As City beat reporter, I've made some very credible contacts here that's allowed me to break stories along the way. I've also covered high profile stories like the Virginia Tech shooting and Michael Vick's dogfighting case. I went to Williamsburg for America's 400th anniversary of Jamestown when the President came to town. And reported on Tropical Storm Gaston in Richmond's Shockoe Bottom and Hurricane Isabel . I worked side by side with then Governor Mark Warner and his staff, keeping Central Virginia informed.

Sandra hails from New Jersey. The Rutger's University graduate started her career in radio where she worked at ABC Radio Networks in New York in Station Clearances. But her dream was to be on-air. She left that job and worked at several stations in the Garden State, including a National Public radio affiliate, in Newark.

Sandra later landed a job as News Director for an AM/FM station in Morristown. While working in radio, Sandra took a stab at television, hosting her own cable show. Then, she moved into Television news, reporting and anchoring for another cable network in one of New Jersey's most diverse cities.

Sandra moved from New Jersey to Fort Wayne, Indiana. There, she spent two years at the ABC affiliate/WPTA-TV as the General Assignment reporter. She missed the East Coast and wanted to come back home. That opportunity came along when she was offered a job at WTVR-TV. Sandra loves news and covers stories that affect people. In her spare time, Sandra attends church, volunteers, reads or catches the latest movie. If you have an interesting news story or tip, feel free to e-mail sjones@wtvr.com
